PEPAKEṈ HÁUTW̱

We are excited to offer one part-time or full-time position for the summer of 2024!

Are you passionate about ecosystem restoration? Do you want to learn more/share about Indigenous knowledge and ways of being on the land?

Work with us! We are a small but mighty crew who love healing the land through ecosystem restoration and community engagement.

Days include being outside all day — 5 days a week — removing invasive species, so it’s quite labour intensive.

Deadline to apply is May 12, 2024.

Start date is early June unless otherwise discussed with applicant. Contract ends August 31, 2024.

What We Do

Practicing land-based education & ecosystem restoration

We hope to share the importance of native ecosystems and the network of embedded relations. They support greater biodiversity and their healthy populations work to mitigate climate change.

It is our responsibility to protect native ecosystems, and to share our knowledge and teachings about restoration practices. PEPAKEṈ HÁUTW̱ hopes to inspire community members to take an ecological approach to return native plants across the W̱SÁNEĆ homelands.

Who We Are

The PEPAKEṈ HÁUTW̱ Foundation is a W̱SÁNEĆ based non-profit organization based out the of the PEPÁḴEṈ HÁUTW̱ (Blossoming Place) Native Plant Nursery & Garden at the ȽÁU,WELṈEW̱ Tribal School.

We lead numerous restoration projects throughout the W̱SÁNEĆ homelands, in particular at SṈIDȻEȽ (Tod Inlet, Gowlland-Tod Provincial Park).
